WHAT IF YOU WANT TO BE A REGATTA PADDLER?
The fees you pay do NOT cover additional costs associated with attending and competing in regattas. KMDBC do provide the more intensive training required to compete at the G4 sessions, but you will also need to supplement that training with additional fitness activities, like running/walking, weight training etc. You will also need to purchase the full club uniform, and you might choose to purchase a carbon fiber paddle and padded paddle pants. Regatta paddlers MUST ensure that they have shoes as approved by DBNSW for competition (i.e. closed toe). Entry fees for regattas are not covered by KMDBC, the fees generally range between $20 - $80 per participant, per regatta in Australia, but can be much more expensive, and international regatta fees are likewise more costly.
